Get creative with soft furnishings and craft classes at Coles Sewing Centre! Perfect for all levels, learn expert techniques and make stunning handmade pieces.

Soft Furnishing and Craft
Suitable for all skill levels, this course will teach you how to make a variety of beautiful soft furnishings and crafts for your home from blinds and curtains to cushions and bags. Our tutor will guide and inspire you to create a project of your choice!

Equipment Required

Sewing machine
You will be provided with a Husqvarna Viking sewing machine to use during the class. Please note we cannot guarantee specific models.

Basic sewing equipment, to include:
• Cutting out scissors
• Small paper scissors
• Pins
• Tape measure
• Fabric marker

Fabric
If you already have a project in mind and have the fabric (and if required, a pattern) then bring these with you. If you don’t have a project in mind the teacher will be happy to help and advise you. Dressmaking and patchwork fabrics, along with all your other sewing requirements, are available to purchase in the shop.

Pattern
If you are attending a dressmaking class you will require a pattern. We stock Simplicity, Tilly and the Buttons, The Avid Seamstress, Quality Textiles and Sewgirl patterns. You can view our pattern selection online here or if you prefer to browse in store then our staff are happy to give advice. You may want to do this a few days prior to the course or come in a little earlier on the day to ensure you have enough time to choose.

About the tutor – Jill Dean
Jill has been teaching at Coles Sewing Centre for over 10 years. Jill enjoys making all kinds of items for the home and she teaches students of all abilities, whether just learning to make your first cushion or to measuring up for a curtain.
