Beginners Sampler Quilt & Table Runner

For these two starter projects plenty of guidance will be given on fabric choices, wadding, rulers, cutters, etc, so you do not have to make all these decisions before the first class. Both projects can easily be made bigger or smaller, but both are popular sizes.

Fabric measurements are given in centimetres, but patchwork is done in inches (!) so we will work between both. Fat quarters are half metre lengths of fabric cut in half again to make a usefully sized rectangle.

When choosing fabrics, it is a good idea to select one patterned fabric that appeals to you or matches your décor; then you can pick out fabrics that will co-ordinate, mixing prints and plain, lights and darks. If you are in doubt, bring anything you already have and there will be help available to make your choices on the day.
